About Us
Trusted by Generations Bobby Morrison Funeral Directors was formed in 1987 out of Bobby’s desire to offer a personal, dignified and respectful funeral service to the residents of the Lisburn area. Over thirty years later, this core aim underpins the company’s attitude to our clients. Established in 1987 by local businessman Bobby Morrison, we have been serving the Greater Lisburn area for over thirty years. Carrying out funerals across Northern Ireland, Bobby Morrisons remains a family-owned business. Local Family business Acquired by Melville Morgan Funeral Directors in 2011, Bobby Morrison funeral directors is part of a larger family concern. Melville Morgan is one of Ulster’s longest-serving independent funeral directors, assisting bereaved families across 3 centuries. Melville Morgan was established in 1858 as ‘Melville & Company Limited,’ operating out of premises in Townsend Street, North Belfast. It was passed down through generations of the family, before being sold in the 1980’s to the Morgan family (perhaps better known in those days for the old established business John Morgan & Sons Ltd or Morgan Removals). An entirely different business, but still in the service sector, Morgans brought their own experience and professionalism to the funeral industry in NI. By keeping the business family based and so maintaining the personal service, Melvilles has continued to serve NI people to the highest possible standard. The family remain keen to keep the public aware that whilst we have a number of branches, ours is still a family firm, with our family values at the core of all that we do. A funeral business is like no other business. Attention to detail, coupled with understanding and a genuine desire to help by delivering the very best possible service and assistance to families who are bereaved, underpins every decision we make. As a completely independent firm we can ensure that our prices remain at an affordable level, so that that the highest standard of service continues to be readily available to everyone. Bobby Morrison Funeral Directors are Members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and follow its strict Code of Practice. There is continuous investment in Bobby Morrisons with a new fleet of Jaguar Limousines purchased in October 2017, and plans to provide updated premises to match the service of our staff, most of whom are longstanding employees with many years of service and considerable professional experience in the funeral industry here. Meet the team With a close family unit at the helm, the business rebranded in 2017 as ‘Melville Morgan.’ The family remains keen to keep the public aware that whilst we have a number of branches, ours is still a family firm, with our family values at the core of all that we do. In this regard, we are unique in our service offering, as we are the largest independent funeral directors in the greater Belfast area. Raymond Morgan, Chairman of the John Morgan Group, has overseen Melville’s since its acquisition. His son-in-law Nick Berryman now runs the business, assisted by Raymond’s daughter Rosemary-Anne and nephew David Dunlop on the Board of Directors.
