West & Coe was founded in 1903 by Edward West & Harry Coe in the country village of Dagenham. The sound principles of honesty, care and trust set by our founders are still evident in all we do today. We are totally dedicated to caring and supporting each family during and after a funeral; striving to maintain the exceptional high standards we have set within all aspects of our service. Today third generation Jeremy West is Chairman and Managing Director, having taken over from his father Jack’s long service to the company and indeed community. There is a strong family presence within the company, Daphne West, Jenny & Bill Gillanders make up the board of Directors with fourth generation, Jamie West and Richard Gillanders taking an active role in the day to day running. We are exceptionally proud of our dedicated and experienced team which we see as an extension to our family. Funeral Costs Our Fees We will guide you through the funeral choices available at your pace and give you a clear, written estimate of how much the funeral will cost based on the arrangements you have chosen. You will never be rushed, and you do not have to arrange everything in one go. Every funeral we arrange is unique and it is the choices that you make that will determine the final cost of the funeral. Whatever is requested of us, we will never compromise our high quality of service. There are no hidden extras.

For an Attended or Unattended burial funeral, the burial fee.1 In this local area, the typical cost of the burial fee for local residents is: For a new grave, you will also need to pay for the plot; for an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee. The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.
2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
